What to Expect

We meet as all ages to worship God each Sunday at 10.15am in Langdon Square Community Centre, just off Newham Way, Coulby Newham in Middlesbrough.

Whilst our church is much bigger than it’s Sunday service, our service still forms a vital part of our church life.

We know that it’s not easy visiting a new church for the first time. You may feel nervous or unsure of what will happen. This section has been written to help explain what you can expect if you do visit us for a Sunday service.

We want to make visiting us an enjoyable experience. We’ve tried to design our Sunday services to make them accessible, whatever your background, including if you’ve never been to church before. So here is what you can expect…

Youth

Many Sundays we’ll have youth in for the first part of the service then go into the foyer to pray, catch up, learn about the Bible and play games.

Our youth workers are dedicated to making disciples of our young people and working with families to see them thrive in Jesus.

Children

The children normally join in the service for the first part of the service and can participate in our dedicated kids space (about 20 minutes). The service leader will let you know when the kids church and youth church groups are starting.

All our kids church sessions are planned and led by trained, enthusiastic volunteers who have current DBS checks for working with children. The activities we provide are fun and varied. They include: age-appropriate stories, imaginative play, craft, games and songs. Our curriculum is designed to help each child get to know God and begin to develop a life of worship and prayer.

Adults

Sundays are an incredible opportunity to gather together as Jesus' Church and so we try to make the most of them. We want to teach and train each other in the ways of Jesus, we want to build friendship and community where we can support and encourage each other. We want to pray big prayers when we get together and most of all we want to worship our King Jesus.

Our services are a very relaxed atmosphere, we have a band that leads us in worship songs (all the words are up on the big screen), we have a passionate teaching time where we study a verse of the Bible and relevantly try to apply it to our lives for that week.

The kids are with us in the main service for the first 20 minutes but then they head out into their own groups, led by our wonderful kids Church team.
