The Beacon is our Community Building in Langdon Square (Not to be confused with Langdon Square Community Centre, next door where we meet on Sundays, sorry its a little confusing). The Beacon is an amazing space with a community hall, a cafe' and lounge area. We have worked really hard to make it a bright, modern, welcoming building that is fully equipped for a range of community projects. We are passionate about seeing the building used as much as possible to serve our local area. Below are a few pics and a list of all the Projects our team of volunteers and partners run.
Little Angels - Tots Group
Little Angels is a parent and toddler group held every week at the Beacon. It’s a great opportunity for parents and carers to take a break and meet others while the children can play in a safe, happy setting. This is a group open to anyone with babies/toddlers, or who cares for babies/toddlers. Simply turn up and enjoy coffee and the friendship of other parents and carers, and allow your toddlers to burn off some excess energy as they play together with the other children.
Every Wednesday morning (10:00am-12:00pm)
Cafe and Lounge Venue
Each week our Cafe' and Lounge area are used for a number of different Small Groups, Support Groups, Pastoral Meetings and special events. It's also our office space for the Ministry team. We love it. It's an amazing space and we are passionate about allowing community partners to use it as a venue free of charge. Often you will find things like benefits advice, budgeting courses, and cooking courses happening. Check out the event page to see what's coming up.
We are a part of Middlesbrough Foodbank. Every Monday 1pm-3pm we are open as a distribution centre for those who have been given a food voucher by our growing number of partner organisations. We have a brilliant team of trained volunteers who are ready to help, advise and signpost our neighbours as best we can.
